Stable Bleaching Powder (SBP) is manufactured by Chlorination of high grade Hydrated Lime ( Slaked Lime) using Liquid chlorine . It decomposes on contact with water , releasing chlorine at the point of application . This makes it a strong oxidising , bleaching and disinfecting agent.
